1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 I thank my God whenever I remember you,
4 always in all my prayers praying with joy for you all,
5 for your fellowship in the gospel, from the first day until now;
6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it out to completion until the day of Jesus Christ;
7 how it is right for me to feel this about all of you, because I have you in my heart; and in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you are all partakers with me of grace.
8 For God is my witness how I love you all with the tender love of Jesus Christ.
9 And this I ask in prayer, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and in all knowledge,
10 so that you may approve of what is best, so that you may be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ,
11 full of the fruits of righteousness that They are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
12 I want you to know, brothers, that the things that have happened to me have resulted in the progress of the gospel,
13 in such a way that my imprisonment in Christ has been made evident throughout the Praetorium, and to everyone else.
14 And the majority of the brothers, taking courage in the Lord through my imprisonment, dare much more to speak the word without fear.
15 Some indeed preach Christ out of envy and strife; but others of good will.
16 Some proclaim Christ out of contention, not sincerely, thinking to add affliction to my prisons;
17 but the others out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.
18 What then? That nevertheless, in any way, either by pretext or by truth, Christ is announced; and in this I rejoice, and I will rejoice still.
19 For I know that through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, this will result in my deliverance,
20 according to my desire and hope that I will not be put to shame in anything; but with all confidence, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, either by life or by death.
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 But if living in the flesh results for me in benefit of the work, then I do not know what to choose.
23 For I am straitened between both, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is much better;
24 but remaining in the flesh is more necessary for your sakes.
25 And confident in this, I know that I will remain, that I will still remain with you all, for your profit and the joy of faith,
26 so that your glory may abound from me in Christ Jesus through my presence again among you.
27 Only that you conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come to see you or whether I am absent, I may hear from you that you are standing firm in one spirit, fighting with one accord for the faith of the gospel,
28 and in nothing intimidated by those who oppose, which for them is certainly a sign of perdition, but for you of salvation; and this from God.
29 For it is given to you for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him,
30 having the same conflict that you have seen in me, and now you hear is in me.
1 Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if there is any tender affection, if there is any mercy,
2 make my joy complete, feeling the same, having the same love, being of one mind, feeling one same thing.
3 Do nothing out of strife or vainglory; but with humility, each one esteeming others as better than himself;
4 Not looking each one to his own interests, but each one also to the interests of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied himself, taking form of a servant, made in the likeness of men;
8 And being in form as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
9 Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him a name that is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under from the earth;
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
13 for it is God who works in you both will and desire. do, by your good will.
14 Do everything without murmuring and disputing,
15 so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blame in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world;
16 Hold fast to the word of life, so that on the day of Christ I may boast that I have not run in vain, nor labored in vain.
17 And even though it is poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and rejoice with you all.
18 And likewise you also rejoice and be glad with me.
19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be in good spirits knowing your condition;
20 for I have no one of the same mind, and who is so sincerely interested in you.
21 For everyone seeks his own, not what belongs to Christ Jesus.
22 But you already know his merits, that as a son to a father he has served with me in the gospel.
23 So I hope to send this one to you, after I see how my affairs are going;
24 and I trust in the Lord that I also will come to you soon.
25 But I thought it necessary to send you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, your messenger, and minister of my needs;
26 because he greatly desired to see all of you, and he was gravely distressed because you had heard that he had fallen ill.
27 Well, in truth he was sick, on the verge of dying; But God had mercy on him, and not only on him, but also on me, so that I would not have sadness upon sadness.
28 So I send him with greater care, so that when you see him again, you may rejoice, and I may be less sad.
29 Therefore receive him in the Lord with all joy, and esteem those who are like him;
30 because through the work of Christ he was close to death, exposing his life to supply what was lacking in your service for me.
1 Finally, brothers, rejoice in the Lord. It is not bothersome to me to write the same things to you, and it is safe for you.
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of mutilators of the body.
3 For we are the circumcision, who serve God in spirit and rejoice in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh.
4 Although I also have something to trust in the flesh. If anyone thinks that he has something to rely on in the flesh, I more so:
5 Circumcised on the eighth day, of the lineage of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of Hebrews; As for the law, Pharisee;
6 as to zeal, persecutor of the church; as for the justice that is in the law, blameless.
7 But whatever things were gain to me, I have counted them loss for Christ’s sake.
8 And indeed I count all things as loss because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ,
9 and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness that is from God through faith;
10 in order to know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the participation of his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
11 if by any means he might come to the resurrection from the dead.
12 Not that he has already attained it, nor that he is already perfect; but I press on, to see if I can take hold of that for which I was also taken hold of by Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I myself do not claim to have already attained it; But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore, all of us who are perfect, let us feel the same; And if you feel otherwise, God will also reveal this to you.
16 But in what we have reached, let us follow the same rule, let us feel the same thing.
17 Brethren, be imitators of me, and look to those who do so according to the example you have in us.
18 Because there are many walking around, of whom I told you many times, and even now I say it crying, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ;
19 whose end will be destruction, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is the shame of it; who only think about the earthly.
20 But our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
21 who will transform the body of our humiliation, so that it will be like unto the body of his glory, by the power by which he is also able to subject all things to himself.
1 Therefore, my beloved and desired brothers, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord, beloved.
2 I pray to Euodia and Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
3 Likewise I also beg you, my faithful companion, to help these who fought together with me in the gospel, with Clement also and the rest of my collaborators, whose names are in the book of life.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say: Rejoice!
5 Let your kindness be known to all men. The Lord is near.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honest, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report; If there is any virtue, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about this.
9 What you learned and received and heard and saw in me, this do; and the God of peace will be with you.
10 I greatly rejoiced in the Lord that at last you have revived your care for me; of which you were also eager, but you lacked the opportunity.
11 I am not saying this because I am in short supply, for I have learned to be content, whatever my situation may be.
12 I know how to live humbly, and I know how to have abundance; In everything and by everything I am taught, both to be satisfied and to be hungry, both to have abundance and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
14 However, you did well to share with me in my tribulation.
15 And you also know, O Philippians, that at the beginning of the preaching of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church participated with me in giving and receiving, but you alone;
16 For even to Thessalonica you sent me again and again for my needs.
17 It is not that I seek gifts, but I seek fruit that will abound in your account.
18 But I have received everything, and I have abundance; I am full, having received from Epaphroditus what you sent; fragrant aroma, acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
19 Therefore my God will supply all your need according to his riches to his glory in Christ Jesus.
20 To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
21 Greet all the saints in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you.
22 All the saints greet you, and especially those of Caesar’s house.
23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
