Judas, servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are called, sanctified in God the Father, and kept in Jesus Christ:
Mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.
Beloved, because of the great desire that I had to write to you about our common salvation, it has been necessary for me to write to you exhorting you to contend ardently for the faith that was once delivered to the saints.
For certain men have entered in secretly, those who were previously destined for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness, and deny God the only sovereign, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
But I want to remind you, since you once knew, that the Lord, having saved the people by bringing them out of Egypt, then destroyed those who did not believe.
And the angels who did not keep their dignity, but left their own dwelling, he has kept under darkness, in eternal bonds, for the judgment of the great day;
like Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which in the same way as those, having committed fornication and pursued vices against nature, were made an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.
However, in the same way these dreamers also defile the flesh, reject authority and blaspheme higher powers.
But when Michael the archangel contended with the devil, disputing with him about the body of Moses, he did not dare to bring a curse against him, but said, The Lord rebuke you.
But these blaspheme things they do not know; and in those that they know by nature, they become corrupt like irrational animals.
Woe to them! for they have followed the path of Cain, and for gain committed themselves to the error of Balaam, and perished in the contradiction of Korah.
These are stains in your agapes, that by eating shamelessly with you they feed themselves; clouds without water, carried hither and thither by the winds; autumn trees, fruitless, twice dead and uprooted;
fierce waves of the sea, foaming their own shame; wandering stars, for which the darkness of darkness is eternally reserved.
Of these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, the Lord came with his holy tens of thousands,
to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the wicked of all their ungodly works which they have done ungodly, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
These are gossipers, complainers, who walk according to their own desires, whose mouths speak inflated things, flattering people to gain advantage.
But you, beloved, remember the words that were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
who said to you: In the last time there will be scoffers, who will walk according to their evil desires.
These are the ones who cause divisions; the sensual, who do not have the Spirit.
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Convince some who doubt.
Save others, snatching them out of the fire; and have mercy on others with fear, hating even clothing contaminated by their flesh.
And to him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with great joy,
to the only wise God, our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, now and forever. Amen.
