Ezekiel Chapter 25

Prophecy against Amon

1 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them.
3 And you shall say to the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord God. Thus says the Lord GOD: Because you said, “Well, when my sanctuary was defiled, and the land of Israel was desolate, and the house of Judah was taken into captivity;
4 Therefore, behold, I give you as an inheritance to the easterners, and they will put their sheepfolds in you and pitch their tents in you; they will eat your crops, and drink your milk.
5 And I will make Rabbah a habitation for camels, and the children of Ammon a flock of sheep; and you will know that I am Jehovah.
6 For thus says the Lord GOD: Because you clapped your hands, and stamped with your foot, and rejoiced in your soul with all your contempt for the land of Israel,
7 therefore, behold, I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will hand you over to the nations to be plundered; I will cut you off from among the people, and I will destroy you from among the lands; I will destroy you, and you will know that I am Jehovah.

Prophecy against Moab

8 Thus says the Lord GOD: Because Moab and Seir said, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations;
9 Therefore, behold, I open the side of Moab from the cities, from its cities that are on its border, the desirable lands of Beth-jesimot, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,
10 to the children of the east against the children of Amun; and I will give it as an inheritance, so that there will be no more memory of the children of Ammon among the nations.
11 I will also execute judgments in Moab, and they will know that I am the Lord.

Prophecy against Edom

12 Thus says the Lord GOD: For what Edom did, taking vengeance on the house of Judah, for they transgressed exceedingly, and took revenge on them;
13 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I also will stretch out my hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it, and will desolate it; from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword.

14 And I will put my vengeance against Edom in the hands of my people Israel, and they will do to Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath; and they will know my vengeance, says the Lord God.

Prophecy against the Philistines

15 Thus says the Lord GOD: For what the Philistines did in vengeance, when they took vengeance in spite of their spirit, destroying for old enmities;
16 Therefore thus says the LORD: Behold, I will stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and will cut off the Cherethites, and will destroy the remnant that is left on the coast of the sea.
17 And I will inflict great vengeance on them with rebukes of anger; and they will know that I am Jehovah, when I take my vengeance on them.

Ezekiel Chapter 26

Prophecy against Tire

1 It came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, because Tire said against Jerusalem, Come, well; The one that was the gate of the nations is broken; to me he turned; I will be full, and she will be deserted;
3 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Tyre, and I will raise up many nations against you, as the sea causes its waves to rise.
4 And they will demolish the walls of Tyre, and break down its towers; and I will sweep away even the dust from it, and I will leave it as a smooth rock.
5 It will be a net rack in the middle of the sea, because I have spoken, says the Lord GOD; and it will be plundered by the nations.
6 And his daughters who are in the field will be killed by the sword; and they will know that I am Jehovah.
7 For thus says the Lord God: Behold, from the north I bring against Tire Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, with horses and chariots and horsemen, and troops and many people.
8 He will kill your daughters who are in the field with the sword, and he will set up siege towers against you, and he will build a bulwark against you, and he will establish a shield against you.
9 And he will set battering rams against you, against your walls, and destroy your towers with axes.
10 Because of the multitude of his horses the dust of them will cover you; With the roar of his cavalry and of the wheels and of the chariots, your walls will tremble, when he enters through your doors as through the gates of a destroyed city.
11 With the hooves of his horses he will trample all your streets; He will kill your people with the edge of the sword, and your strong pillars will fall to the ground.
12 And they will steal your wealth and plunder your merchandise; They will ruin your walls, and destroy your precious houses; and they will put your stones and your wood and your dust in the middle of the waters.
13 And I will make the noise of your songs cease, and the sound of your lyres will no longer be heard.
14 And I will make you like a smooth rock; You will be a clothesline for nets, and you will never be built again; for I, the Lord, have spoken, says the Lord God.
15 Thus says the Lord GOD to Tyre: Will the coasts not shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded cry out, when the slaughter is carried out in your midst?
16 Then all the princes of the sea will come down from their thrones, and will take off their robes, and will take off their embroidered garments; They will dress in fear, they will sit on the ground, and they will tremble every moment, and they will be astonished over you.

17 And they will raise up lamentations over you, and say to you: How did you perish, populated by seafarers, a city that was praised, that was strong in the sea, it and its inhabitants, who struck terror into all those around it?
18 Now the islands will shake on the day of your fall; yes, the islands that are in the sea will be terrified because of your end.
19 For thus says the Lord GOD: I will make you a desolate city, like cities that are not inhabited; I will bring up the deep above you, and many waters will cover you.
20 And I will bring you down with those who go down to the grave, with the people of other ages, and I will place you in the depths of the earth, like the ancient deserts, with those who go down to the grave, so that you will never be populated again; and I will give glory in the land of the living.
21 I will make you a terror, and you will be no more; You will be sought and never found again, says the Lord God.

Ezekiel Chapter 27

1 The word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 You, son of man, raise up a lamentation over Tyre.
3 You shall say to Tyre, which sits on the shores of the sea, which trades with the peoples of many coasts: Thus says the Lord God: Tyre, you have said: I am of perfect beauty.
4 In the heart of the seas are your borders; Those who built you completed your beauty.
5 They made all your wood from beech trees from Mount Senir; They took cedars from Lebanon to make your mast.
6 They made your oars from oaks of Bashan; your pine benches from the coasts of Quitim, inlaid with ivory.
7 Your curtain was made of fine embroidered linen from Egypt, to serve as a sail; of blue and purple from the shores of Elisa was your pavilion.
8 The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your oarsmen; Your wise men, O Tyre, were in you; They were your pilots.
9 The elders of Gebal and his most skilled workers caulked your joints; All the ships of the sea and their rowers came to you to negotiate, to participate in your business.
10 Persians and those from Lud and Fut were your men of war in your army; shields and helmets hung on you; They gave you your splendor.
11 And the sons of Arvad with your army were on your walls all around, and the Gammites in your towers; their shields hung on your walls all around; they completed your beauty.
12 Tarshish traded with you because of the abundance of all your riches; With silver, iron, tin and lead he traded at your fairs.
13 Javan, Tubal and Meshech also traded with you; They traded with men and with bronze utensils at your fairs.
14 Those of the house of Togarma, with horses and war steeds and mules, traded in your market.
15 The sons of Dedan traded with you; many coasts took merchandise from your hand; ivory and ebony tusks they gave you for their payments.
16 Edom traded with you for the multitude of your products; With pearls, purple, embroidered dresses, fine linens, corals and rubies he came to your fairs.
17 Judah and the land of Israel traded with you; With wheat from Minit and Panag, honey, oil and resin they traded in your markets.
18 Damascus traded with you because of your many products, because of the abundance of all wealth; They traded with Helbon wine and white wool.
19 Likewise Dan and the wandering Javan came to your fairs, to trade in wrought iron, distilled myrrh, and sweet reed in your market.
20 Dedan traded with you in precious chariot cloth.
twenty-oneArabia and all the princes of Kedar traded with you in lambs and rams and goats; in these things they were your merchants.
22 The merchants of Sheba and Raama were also your merchants; with the main of all spices, and all precious stones, and gold, they came to your fairs.

23 Haran, Cane, Eden, and the merchants of Sheba, Assyria, and Kilmad, contracted with you.
24 These merchants of yours traded with you in various things; in blue and embroidered cloaks, and in boxes of precious clothes, tied with cords, and in cedar wood.

25 The ships of Tarshish were like your caravans that brought your merchandise; Thus you became opulent, you multiplied greatly in the middle of the seas.
26 Your oarsmen engulfed you in many waters; The east wind broke you in the midst of the seas.
27 Your riches, your merchandise, your traffic, your rowers, your pilots, your caulkers, and your business agents, and all your men of war that are in you, with all your company that is among you, will fall into middle of the seas on the day of your fall.
28 At the noise of the voices of your sailors the coasts will tremble.
29 All who take up oars will descend from their ships; rowers and all the pilots of the sea will remain on the land,
30 and they will make their voice heard over you, and they will cry bitterly, and they will throw dust on their heads, and they will wallow in ashes.
31 They will shave their hair for you, they will gird themselves with sackcloth, and they will mourn bitterly for you, with bitterness of soul.
32 And they will take up mourning over you in their lamentations, and lament over you, saying, Who is like Tyre, like that which is destroyed in the midst of the sea?
33 When your merchandise left the ships, you satisfied many people; You enriched the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and your trade.
34 At the time when you are broken by the seas into the depths of the waters, your trade and all your company will fall in your midst.
35 All the inhabitants of the coasts will marvel at you, and their kings will tremble with fear; their faces will change.
36 The merchants in the towns will hiss against you; You will become horror, and forever you will cease to be.

Ezekiel Chapter 28

1 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God: Because your heart was lifted up, and you said, I am a god, I sit on the throne of God. in the middle of the seas (you being man and not God), and you have made your heart the heart of God;
3 behold, you are wiser than Daniel; There is no secret that is hidden from you.
4 By your wisdom and by your prudence you have accumulated riches, and have acquired gold and silver in your treasures.
5 With the greatness of your wisdom in your contracts you have multiplied your riches; and because of your riches your heart has been lifted up.
6 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have set your heart as the heart of God,
7 therefore, behold, I bring upon you foreigners, the mighty of the nations, who will draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, and they will stain your splendor.
8 They will bring you down to the grave, and you will die with the death of those who die in the midst of the seas.
9 Will you speak before him who kills you, saying: I am God? You are man, and not God, in the hand of your killer.
10 You will die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of foreigners; for I have spoken, says the Lord God.
11 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
12 Son of man, take up lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 You were in Eden, in the garden of God; of every precious stone was your garment; of cornerine, topaz, jasper, chrysolite, beryl and onyx; of sapphire, carbuncle, emerald and gold; The beauty of your drums and flutes were prepared for you on the day of your creation.
14 You, great cherub, protector, I placed you on the holy mountain of God, there you were; In the middle of the fiery stones you walked.
15 You were perfect in all your ways from the day you were created, until iniquity was found in you.
16 Because of the multitude of your contracts you were filled with iniquity, and you sinned; Therefore I cast you out of the mountain of God, and cast you out from among the stones of fire, O protecting cherub.
17 Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor; I will throw you to the ground; I will place you before kings so that they may look at you.
18With the multitude of your iniquities and with the iniquity of your contracts you have profaned your sanctuary; So I brought out fire from among you, and it consumed you, and I turned you into ashes on the earth in the eyes of all who look at you.
19 All who knew you from among the people will marvel at you; You will be a horror, and forever you will cease to be.

Prophecy against Sidon

20 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
21 Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it,
22 and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Sidon, and in the midst of you I will be glorified; and they will know that I am the Lord, when I execute judgments in it, and sanctify myself in it.
23 I will send pestilence and blood to her in her streets, and dead people will fall in her midst, with swords against her on all sides; and they will know that I am Jehovah.
24 And no more will it be a piercing thorn to the house of Israel, nor a sting that causes pain, among those who surround it and despise it; and they will know that I am Jehovah.
25 Thus says the Lord GOD: When I gather the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, then I will sanctify myself in them in the sight of the nations, and they will dwell in their land, which I gave to my servant Jacob.
26 And they will dwell there in safety, and they will build houses, and plant vineyards, and live safely, when I execute judgments on all those who plunder them around them; and they will know that I am the Lord their God.

Ezekiel Chapter 29

Prophecies against Egypt

1 In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.
3 Speak and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of its rivers, which said, The Nile is Mine, for I made it.
4 Therefore I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will cling the fish of your rivers to your scales, and I will bring you out of the midst of your rivers, and all the fish of your rivers will come out clinging to your scales.
5 And I will leave you and all the fish in your rivers in the wilderness; You will fall on the face of the field; You will not be gathered, nor will you be gathered together; I have given you as food to the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the sky.
6 And all the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am the Lord, because they were a reed staff to the house of Israel.
7 When they took you by the hand, you were broken, and you broke their whole shoulder; and when they leaned on you, you were broken, and you broke their entire loins.
8 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I bring a sword against you, and I will cut off from you man and beast.
9 And the land of Egypt will be desolate and desolate, and they will know that I am Jehovah; for he said, The Nile is mine, and I made it.
10 Therefore, behold, I am against you, and against your rivers; and I will make the land of Egypt a desolation, in the wilderness, from Migdol to Sevene, to the border of Ethiopia.
11 No foot of man will pass through it, nor foot of animal will pass through it, nor will it be inhabited for forty years.
12 And I will make the land of Egypt desolate among the desolate lands, and its cities among the destroyed cities will be desolate for forty years; and I will scatter Egypt among the nations, and I will disperse it throughout the lands.
13 For thus says the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years I will gather Egypt from the people among whom they were scattered;
14 And I will bring back the captives from Egypt, and bring them to the land of Patros, to the land of their origin; and there they will be a despicable kingdom.
15 In comparison with the other kingdoms it will be humble; He will never again rise above the nations; for I will diminish them, so that they will no longer have dominion over the nations.

16 And it will no longer be a trustworthy support for the house of Israel, reminding them of the sin of looking after them; and they will know that I am the Lord God.
17 Now it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
18 Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his army do hard service against Tyre. Every head has been bald, and every back has been flayed; and neither for him nor for his army was there any pay from Tire for the service he rendered against it.
19 Therefore thus says the Lord God; Behold, I give to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, the land of Egypt; and he will take his riches, and gather up his spoil, and take plunder, and there will be reward for his army.
20 For his labor with which he served against her I have given him the land of Egypt; because they worked for me, says the Lord God.
21 At that time I will make the power of the house of Israel flourish. And I will open your mouth among them, and they will know that I am Jehovah.

Ezekiel Chapter 30

1 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord God: Lament: Woe to that day!
3 For the day is near, the day of the Lord is near; It will be a cloudy day, a day of punishment for the nations.
4 And the sword will come to Egypt, and there will be fear in Ethiopia, when they fall wounded in Egypt; and they will take its riches, and its foundations will be destroyed.
5 Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all Arabia, Libya, and the children of the allied lands, will fall with them by the edge of the sword.
6 Thus says the LORD: Those who support Egypt will also fall, and the haughtiness of their power will fall; from Migdol to Sevene they will fall by the edge of the sword, says the Lord GOD.
7 And they will be desolate among the desolate lands, and their cities will be among the desert cities.
8 And they will know that I am the Lord, when he sets fire to Egypt, and all his helpers are destroyed.
9 At that time messengers will go out from before me in ships, to frighten trusting Ethiopia, and they will be as terrified as in the day of Egypt; for here it comes.
10 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will destroy the wealth of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11 He, and with him his people, the strongest of the nations, will be brought to destroy the land; and they will draw their swords on Egypt, and fill the land with the dead.
12 And I will dry up the rivers, and I will give the land into the hands of evil ones, and by the hand of foreigners I will destroy the land and all that is in it. I, Jehovah, have spoken.
13 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will also destroy the images, and I will destroy the idols of Memphis; and there will be no more prince of the land of Egypt, and I will put fear in the land of Egypt.
14 I will lay waste Patros, and I will set fire to Zoan, and I will execute judgments in Thebes.
15 And I will pour out my wrath on Sin, the stronghold of Egypt, and I will destroy the multitude of Thebes.
16 And I will set fire to Egypt; Sin will have great pain, and Thebes will be destroyed, and Memphis will have continuous anguish.
17 The young men of Aven and Pibesheth will fall by the sword, and the women will go into captivity.
18 And the day will be darkened in Tahpanhes, when I break the power of Egypt there, and the pride of her power will cease in her; darkness will cover it, and the inhabitants of its villages will go into captivity.
19 Therefore I will execute judgments in Egypt, and they will know that I am Jehovah.
20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and behold, he has not been bandaged by putting medicine on him, nor by putting a girdle on him to bind him, in order to strengthen him so that he can hold the sword.
22 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and I will break his arms, the strong and the broken, and I will cause the sword to fall from his hand.
23 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and I will disperse them throughout the lands.
24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and I will put my sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and before him he will groan with the groans of a man wounded to death.
25 Therefore I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh will fall; and they will know that I am the Lord, when I put my sword in the hand of the king of Babylon, and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt.
26 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and I will disperse them throughout the lands; and they will know that I am Jehovah.

Ezekiel Chapter 31

1 It came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his people, To whom have you compared yourself in your greatness?
3 Behold, there was the Assyrian cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches, luxuriant branches, and great height, and its top was among dense branches.
4 The waters made it increase, the deep made it high; The rivers flowed around his foot, and he sent his streams to all the trees of the field.
5 Therefore, its height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and its branches multiplied, and because of the many waters its branches that it had spread became longer.
6 In its branches all the birds of the air made nests, and under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth, and in its shadow many nations dwelt.
7 So it became beautiful in its greatness with the extension of its branches; for its root was by many waters.
8 The cedars did not cover it in the garden of God; The beech trees were not like their branches, nor were the chestnut trees like their branches; No tree in the garden of God was like him in beauty.
9 I made it beautiful with the multitude of its branches; and all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God, were envious of him.
10 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Since he was exalted in height, and lifted up his top among dense branches, his heart was lifted up with his height,
11 I will deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations, who will surely He will treat him according to his wickedness. I have discarded it.
12 And foreigners, the mighty of the nations, will destroy it and overthrow it; Its branches will fall on the mountains and in all the valleys, and its branches will be broken in all the streams of the earth; and all the people of the earth will depart from his shadow and leave him.
13 All the birds of the sky will dwell on its ruin, and all the beasts of the field will be on its branches,
14 so that all the trees that grow by the waters will not be exalted in their height, nor lift up their tops among the thickets, nor Let all who drink water trust in his height; because they are all destined to death, to the depths of the earth, among the sons of men, with those who go down to the pit.

15 Thus says the Lord GOD: On the day that he went down to Sheol, I caused mourning, I caused the deep to be covered with it, and I stopped its rivers, and the many waters were stopped; I covered Lebanon with darkness for it, and all the trees of the field fainted.
16 I made the nations tremble at the sound of his fall, when I brought them down to Sheol with all those who go down to the grave; and all the choice trees of Eden, and the best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the depths of the earth.
17 They also went down with him to Sheol, with those killed by the sword, those who were his arm, those who were in his shadow among the nations.
18 To whom have you thus compared yourself in glory and greatness among the trees of Eden? For you will be cut down with the trees of Eden in the depths of the earth; You will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his people, says the Lord God.

Ezekiel Chapter 32

1 It came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, take up lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art like the young lion of the nations. , and you are like the dragon in the seas; for you dried up your rivers, and muddied the waters with your feet, and trampled its banks.
3 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will spread my net over you with a gathering of many peoples, and they will bring you up with my net.
4 And I will leave you on the ground, I will cast you on the face of the field, and I will make all the birds of the air rest on you, and I will satisfy the wild beasts of all the earth with you.
5 I will lay your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your carcasses.
6 And I will water the land where you swim with your blood, even to the mountains; and the streams will be filled with you.
7 And when I have extinguished you, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with clouds, and the moon will not make its light shine.
8 I will darken all the bright stars in the sky for you, and I will put darkness over your land, says the Lord GOD.
9 And I will sadden the hearts of many people, when I lead your people into captivity among the nations, in lands you did not know.
10 And I will leave many peoples in awe of you, and their kings will be in great horror because of you, when I make my sword shine before their faces; and everyone will be alarmed in their spirits at every moment on the day of your fall.
11 For thus says the Lord GOD: The sword of the king of Babylon will come upon you.
12 With the swords of the strong I will cause your people to fall; all of them will be the powerful of the nations; and they will destroy the pride of Egypt, and all their multitude will be dissolved.
13 I will destroy all their beasts from the many waters; No more will the foot of man trouble them, nor will the hoof of a beast trouble them.
14 Then I will make its waters settle, and make its rivers flow like oil, says the Lord GOD.
15 When he lays waste the land of Egypt, and the land is stripped of everything in it, and when he kills all who live in it, they will know that I am Jehovah.
16 This is the dirge, and they will sing it; the daughters of the nations will sing it; They will mourn over Egypt and over all the multitude of it, says the Lord God.
17 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
18 Son of man, lament upon the multitude of Egypt, and cast him away, and the daughters of the mighty nations, to the depths of the earth, with those who descend to the grave.
19Because you are so beautiful, come down and lie with the uncircumcised.
20 He will fall among those killed by the sword; He is delivered to the sword; bring him and all his people.
21 From the midst of Sheol the strong of the strong will speak to him, with those who helped him, who came down and lie with the uncircumcised slain by the sword.
22 There is Assyria with all her multitude; Her tombs are around him; They all fell dead by the sword.
23 His tombs were placed on the sides of the pit, and his people were around his tomb; All of them fell dead by the sword, which spread terror in the land of the living.

24 There Elam, and all his multitude around his tomb; All of them fell dead by the sword, who went down uncircumcised to the depths of the earth, because they spread their terror in the land of the living, but they brought their confusion with those who go down to the grave.

25 In the midst of the dead they laid a bed for him with all his multitude; His tombs are around it; all of them uncircumcised, killed by the sword, because his terror was placed in the land of the living, but they carried their confusion with those who go down to the grave; he was placed among the dead.
26 There Meshech and Tubal, and all the multitude of him; their tombs in its surroundings; all of them uncircumcised, killed by the sword, because they had spread their terror in the land of the living.
27 And they will not lie with the strong of the uncircumcised who fell, who went down to Sheol with their weapons of war, and their swords placed under their heads; but their sins will be on their bones, because they were a terror to the strong in the land of the living.
28 You therefore will be broken among the uncircumcised, and you will lie with those slain by the sword.
29 There Edom, its kings and all its princes, who by their might were put to the dead by the sword; They will lie with the uncircumcised, and with those who go down to the grave.
30 There the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who in their terror went down with the dead, ashamed of their power, also lie uncircumcised with those killed by the sword, and share their confusion with those who go down to the grave.
31 Pharaoh will see these, and will be comforted over all his multitude; Pharaoh slain by the sword, and all his army, says the Lord GOD.
32 Because I have put my terror in the land of the living, Pharaoh also and all his multitude will lie among the uncircumcised with those killed by the sword, says the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel Chapter 33

The duty of the watchman

1 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them, When I bring a sword upon the land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him a watchman,
3 and he sees the sword coming upon the earth, and he will blow the trumpet and warn the people,
4 whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and is not alert, and when the sword comes it strikes him, his blood will be on his head.
5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and was not warned; his blood will be on him; but he who is prepared will save his life from him.
6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not alert, and the sword comes and strikes any of them, he was taken because of his sin, but I will require his blood at the hand. of the watchtower.
7 Therefore, son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel, and you will hear the word of my mouth, and you will warn them from me.
8 When I say to the wicked, “You wicked man, you will surely die; If you do not speak to keep the wicked from his way, the wicked will die for his sin, but his blood I will require at your hand.
9 And if you warn the wicked of his way so that he departs from it, and he does not depart from his way, he will die for his sin, but you spared your life.

God's way is fair

10 You therefore, son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus have you spoken, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and because of them we are consumed; How then shall we live?
11 Tell them: As I live, says the Lord GOD, I do not want the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways; why will you die, O house of Israel?
12 And you, son of man, say to the children of your people: The justice of the righteous will not deliver him on the day he rebels; and the wickedness of the wicked will not be a hindrance to him in the day that he turns from his wickedness; and the righteous will not be able to live by his righteousness on the day he sins.
13 When I say to the righteous man, ‘You will surely live,’ and he trusting in his righteousness commits iniquity, all his righteousness will not be remembered, but he will die for his iniquity which he did.
14 And when I say to the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; If he turns from his sin and does what is right and right,
15 if the wicked restores the pledge, restores what he has stolen, and walks in the statutes of life, doing no iniquity, he will certainly live and will not die.
16 He will not be reminded of any of the sins he had committed; he did according to law and justice; he will certainly live.
17 Then the children of your people will say, The way of the Lord is not straight; Their path is one that is not straight.
18 When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he will die for it.
19 And when the wicked turn away from his wickedness, and do according to justice and righteousness, he shall live by it.
20 And you said, The way of the Lord is not straight. I will judge you, O house of Israel, each one according to his ways.

News of the fall of Jerusalem

21 It came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, that a fugitive from Jerusalem came to me, saying, The city has been taken.
22 And the hand of the LORD had been on me the evening before the fugitive came, and he had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and he opened my mouth, and I was silent no longer.
23 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
24 Son of man, those who dwell in those desolate places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he possessed the land; for we are many; to us the land is given in possession.
25 Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Will you eat blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, shed blood, and possess the land?
26 You stood on your swords, you committed an abomination, and you defiled each of your neighbor’s wives; and shall you possess the land?
27 Thus you shall say to them: Thus says the Lord GOD: As I live, those who are in those desolate places will fall by the sword, and he who is on the open field I will hand over to the wild beasts to devour; and those who are in strongholds and caves will die of pestilence.
28 And I will make the land a desert and a desolation, and the pride of its power will cease; and the mountains of Israel will be laid waste until no one passes over.
29 And they will know that I am the Lord, when he turns the land into a desolation and a desert, because of all the abominations that they have done.
30 And you, son of man, the children of your people mock you at the walls and at the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, each to his brother, saying, Come now, and hear what word comes from Jehovah.
31 And they will come to you as the people come, and will stand before you as my people, and will hear your words, and will not do them; but they flatter with their mouths, and their hearts follow their covetousness.
32 And behold, you are to them like a singer of loves, beautiful in voice and singing well; and they will hear your words, but they will not do them.
33 But when it comes (and it is coming), they will know that there was a prophet among them.

Ezekiel Chapter 34

Prophecy against the shepherds of Israel

1 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; he prophesies, and say to the shepherds: Thus says the Lord God: Woe to the shepherds of Israel, who feed themselves! Did not the shepherds feed the flocks?
3 You eat the fat, and put on the wool; You slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep.
4 You did not strengthen the weak, nor did you heal the sick; You did not bind up the broken, you did not return the strayed to the fold, nor did you search for the lost, but you have ruled over them with harshness and violence.
5 And they wander for lack of a shepherd, and are a prey to all the wild beasts of the field, and are scattered.
6 My sheep have wandered lost on all the mountains, and on every high hill; and my sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, and there was no one to search for them, nor anyone to ask about them.
7 Therefore, shepherds, hear the word of the Lord:
8 As I live, says the Lord God, because my flock became a plunder, and my sheep became a prey to all the wild beasts of the field, without a shepherd; nor did my shepherds seek my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and did not feed my sheep;
9 Therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the Lord.
10 Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hand, and I will make them stop feeding the sheep; nor will the shepherds feed themselves any more, for I will deliver my sheep from their mouths, and they will no longer be food to them.
11 For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I myself will go and seek my sheep, and will recognize them.
12 As the shepherd recognizes his flock on the day that it is among his scattered sheep, so will I recognize my sheep, and I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on the day of cloudiness and darkness.
13 And I will bring them out of the towns, and I will gather them out of the lands; I will bring them into their own land, and feed them on the mountains of Israel, along the river banks, and in all the inhabited places of the land.
14 I will feed them in good pastures, and their sheepfold will be on the high mountains of Israel; There they will sleep in a good fold, and in lush pastures they will be fed on the mountains of Israel.
15 I will feed my sheep, and I will shelter them, says the Lord GOD.

2 photo

16 I will seek the lost, and bring the stray back to the fold; I will bind up the broken, and strengthen the weak; but the fat and the strong I will destroy; I will feed them with justice.
17 But as for you, my sheep, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and goats.
18 Is it too little for you to eat the good pastures, but also to trample with your feet what remains of your pastures? and that by drinking the clear waters, you also muddy with your feet what remains?

19 And my sheep eat what is trodden under your feet, and drink what you have muddied with your feet.
20 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD to them: Behold, I, I, will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep,
21 because you have pushed with your side and with your shoulder, and have gored with your horns all the weak ones, until you drove them out and scattered them.
22 I will save my sheep, and they will no longer be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.
23 And I will raise up a shepherd over them, and he will feed them; to my servant David, he will feed them, and he will be their shepherd.
24 I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I, Jehovah, have spoken.
25 And I will establish a covenant of peace with them, and I will remove the wild beasts from the land; and they will dwell in the wilderness in safety, and sleep in the forests.
26 And I will bless them and the surroundings of my hill, and I will send down the rain in its season; rains of blessing will be.
27 And the tree of the field will yield its fruit, and the earth will yield its fruit, and they will be on their land in safety; and they will know that I am Jehovah, when he breaks the bands of his yoke, and delivers them from the hand of those who use them.
28 They will no longer be a spoil to the nations, nor will the wild beasts of the earth devour them; but they will dwell in safety, and there will be no one to frighten them.
29 And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they will no longer be consumed with famine in the land, nor will they be shamed by the nations any more.
30 And they will know that I, the Lord their God, am with them, and they are my people, the house of Israel, says the Lord God.
31 And you, my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, says the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel Chapter 35

Prophecy against Mount Seir

1 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, set your face toward mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
3 and say to it, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O mountain of Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desert and a desolation.
4 I will desolate your cities, and you will be desolate; and you will know that I am Jehovah.
5 Because you had perpetual enmity, and gave the children of Israel over to the power of the sword in the time of their affliction, in the time of extreme evil,
6 therefore as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will doom you to blood, and blood will pursue you; and because you did not hate blood, blood will pursue you.
7 And I will make Mount Seir a wilderness and a desolation, and I will cut off from it whoever goes and whoever comes.
8 And I will fill their mountains with his dead; On your hills, in your valleys and in all your streams, they will fall dead by the sword.
9 I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities will never again be restored; and you will know that I am Jehovah.
10 Because you said, The two nations and the two lands will be mine, and I will take possession of them; Jehovah being there;
11 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will do according to your anger, and according to your jealousy, with which you acted, because of your enmities toward them; and I will be known in them, when I judge you.
12 And you will know that I, the Lord, have heard all your insults that you uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are destroyed, they have been given to us to devour.

13 And you magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and multiplied your words against me. I heard it.
14 Thus says the Lord GOD: So that the whole earth may rejoice, I will make you a desolation.
15 As you rejoiced over the heritage of the house of Israel, because it was laid waste, so will I do to you; Mount Seir will be desolate, and all Edom, all of it; and they will know that I am Jehovah.

Ezekiel Chapter 36

Future Restoration of Israel

1 You, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say: Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord.
2 Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the enemy has said of you, Behold! also the eternal heights have been given to us as an inheritance;
3 Prophesy therefore and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Because they have devastated you and swallowed you up from every side, so that you may become the inheritance of the other nations, and you have been made to fall into the mouths of talkers and become a reproach. of the peoples,
4 Therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God to the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys, to the ruins and desolations and to the forsaken cities, which They were made a booty and ridicule of the other nations around;
5 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I have spoken truly in the fire of my zeal against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who disputed my land for inheritance with joy, with all their heart, and with bitterness of mind, so that those who were expelled would be their prey.
6 Therefore prophesy against the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills and to the streams and to the valleys: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, in my jealousy and in my anger I have spoken, because you have borne the disgrace of the nations.
7 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I have raised my hand, I have sworn that the nations that are around you will bear their disgrace.
8 But you, O mountains of Israel, will bear your branches and bear your fruit for my people Israel; because they are close to come.
9 For behold, I am for you, and I will return to you, and you will be tilled and sown.
10 And I will multiply men among you, the whole house of Israel, all of them; and the cities will be inhabited, and the ruins will be built.
11 I will multiply men and livestock upon you, and they will be multiplied and increase; and I will make you dwell as you used to do of old, and I will do you greater good than in your beginnings; and you will know that I am Jehovah.
12 And I will make men walk over you, my people Israel; and they will take possession of you, and you will be their inheritance, and you will never again kill their children.
13 Thus says the Lord GOD: Because they say of you, You have been an eater of men, and a slayer of the children of your nation;
14 Therefore you shall no longer devour men, and you shall never again kill the children of your nation, says the Lord GOD.
15 And I will no longer make you hear the insults of the nations, nor will you again bear the insults of the people, nor will you cause the children of your nation to die again, says the Lord GOD.
16 The word of the Lord came to me, saying:
17Son of man, while the house of Israel dwelt in their land, they defiled it with their ways and with their works; His path was like the filth of a menstruating woman before me.
18 And I poured out my anger on them for the blood they shed on the land; because they defiled it with their idols.
19 I scattered them among the nations, and they were scattered throughout the lands; I judged them according to their ways and according to their works.
20 And when they came to the nations whither they went, they profaned my holy name, saying of them, These are the people of the Lord, and they have come out of his land.
21 But I have been grieved to see my holy name profaned by the house of Israel among the nations where they went.
22 Therefore say to the house of Israel: Thus says the Lord GOD: I am not doing this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have come.

23 And I will sanctify my great name, profaned among the nations, which you have profaned among them; and the nations will know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when he is sanctified in you before his eyes.
24 And I will take you from the nations, and I will gather you from all the lands, and I will bring you to your country.
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be cleansed from all your filthiness; and I will cleanse you from all your idols.
26 I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh, and give you a heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them.
28 You will live in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you will be my people, and I will be your God.
29 And I will keep you from all your filthiness; and I will call the wheat, and multiply it, and I will not make you hungry.
30 I will also multiply the fruit of the trees, and the fruit of the fields, so that you will never again receive the reproach of famine among the nations.
31 And you will remember your evil ways, and your deeds that were not good; and you will be ashamed of yourselves for your iniquities and for your abominations.
32 I am not doing this for you, says the Lord God, know it well; Be ashamed and ashamed for your iniquities, house of Israel.
33 Thus says the Lord GOD: On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also cause the cities to be inhabited, and the ruins will be rebuilt.
34 And the desolate land will be plowed, instead of having remained desolate in the eyes of all who passed by.
35 And they will say, This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and these cities that were deserted and desolate and ruined are fortified and inhabited.
36 And the nations that remain around you will know that I rebuilt what was torn down, and planted what was desolate; I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will do it.
37 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will still be sought by the house of Israel, to do this to them; I will multiply men as flocks multiply.
38 Like the consecrated sheep, like the sheep of Jerusalem in its solemn feasts, so the desert cities will be filled with flocks of men; and they will know that I am Jehovah.

Ezekiel Chapter 37

The valley of dry bones

1 The hand of the LORD came upon me, and carried me away in the Spirit of the LORD, and put me in the midst of a valley that was full of bones.
2 And he made me pass near them all around; And behold, there were very many of them on the face of the field, and they were very dry.
3 And he said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I said: Lord Jehovah, you know it.
4 Then he said to me: Prophesy about these bones, and say to them: Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause spirit to enter you, and you will live.
6 And I will put sinews on you, and I will make flesh come up on you, and I will cover you with skin, and I will put spirit in you, and you will live; and you will know that I am Jehovah.
7 So I prophesied as he commanded me; and there was a noise while I was prophesying, and behold, a trembling; and the bones joined together, each bone to its bone.
8 And I looked, and behold sinews upon them, and the flesh came up, and the skin covered over them; but there was no spirit in them.
9 And he said to me, Prophesy to the spirit, prophesy, son of man, and say to the spirit, Thus says the Lord God: Spirit, come from the four winds, and blow on these dead, and they will live.
10 And I prophesied as he had commanded me, and spirit entered into them, and they lived, and stood on their feet; an extremely large army.
11 Then he said to me: Son of man, all these bones are the house of Israel. Behold, they say: Our bones are dried up, and our hope is perished, and we are utterly destroyed.
12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will open your graves, my people, and I will bring you up from your graves, and I will bring you into the land of Israel.
13 And you will know that I am the Lord, when he opens your graves, and brings you out of your graves, my people.
14 And I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live, and I will make you rest on your land; and you will know that I, the Lord, spoke, and I did it, says the Lord.

The reunion of Judah and Israel

15 The word of the Jehovah came to me, saying,
16 Son of man, take now a stick, and write on it: For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions. Then take another stick, and write on it: For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions.
17 Then join them one to another, so that they may be one, and they will be one in your hand.
18 And when the children of your people ask you, saying, Will you not show us what you mean by this?

19 Say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph that is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions, and I will put them with the stick of Judah, and I will make them one stick. , and they will be one in my hand.
20 And the sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes,
21 and you will say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations to which they went, and I will gather them. from everywhere, and I will bring them to their land;

22 And I will make them a nation in the land, in the mountains of Israel, and one king will be king over them all; and never again will they be two nations, nor will they ever again be divided into two kingdoms.
23 Nor shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, with their abominations, and with all their rebellions; and I will save them from all their transgressions by which they sinned, and I will cleanse them; and they will be my people, and I will be their God.
24 My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in my precepts, and they will keep my statutes, and they will do them.
25 They will live in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived; They, their children, and their children’s children will dwell therein forever; and my servant David will be their prince forever.
26 And I will make a covenant of peace with them, a perpetual covenant shall be with them; and I will establish them and multiply them, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever.
27 My tabernacle will be in their midst, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.
28 And the nations will know that I, the Lord, sanctify Israel, my sanctuary being among them forever.

Ezekiel Chapter 38

Prophecy against Gog

1 The word of the Jehovah came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, set your face against Gog in the land of Magog, the sovereign prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3 and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold , I am against you, O Gog, sovereign prince of Meshech and Tubal.
4 And I will break you, and I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will bring out you and all your army, horses and horsemen, fully equipped, a great multitude with bucklers and shields, all of them having swords;
5 Persia, Cush and Put with them; all of them with shield and helmet;
6 Gomer, and all his troops; the house of Togarma, of the northern borders, and all his troops; many towns with you.
7 Prepare and prepare yourself, you and all your company that has gathered to you, and be their guardian.
8 Many days from now you will be visited; After years you will come to the land saved from the sword, gathered from many peoples, to the mountains of Israel, which were always a desolation; but it was taken out of the nations, and they will all dwell safely.
9 You will rise and come like a storm; It will be like a cloud to cover the land, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you.
10 Thus says the Lord GOD: In that day words will come up in your heart, and you will conceive evil thoughts,
11 and you will say, I will go up against a defenseless land, I will go against a quiet people who live safely; They all live without walls, and have no locks or doors;
12 to snatch spoil and to take spoil, to lay your hands on the desert lands already populated, and on the people gathered from among the nations, who make livestock and possessions, who dwell in the central part of the earth.
13 Sheba and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish and all the princes thereof, will say to you, Have you come to take spoil? Have you gathered your multitude to take plunder, to take silver and gold, to take livestock and possessions, to take great plunder?
14 Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog: Thus says the Lord God: In that time, when my people Israel dwell in safety, will you not know?
15 You will come from your place, from the northern regions, you and many people with you, all of them on horseback, a great multitude and a mighty army,
16 and you will come up against my people Israel as a cloud to cover the land; It will be at the end of days; and I will bring you upon my land, that the nations may know me, when I am sanctified in you, O Gog, before his eyes.

17 Thus says the Lord GOD: Are you not he of whom I spoke in former times by my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days that I would bring you upon them?
18 At that time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel, says the Lord God, my wrath and my wrath will rise.
19 For I have spoken in my jealousy and in the fire of my anger: That at that time there will be a great trembling over the land of Israel;
20 that the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the beasts of the field, and every serpent that creeps on the earth, and all men that are on the face of the earth, will tremble at my presence; and the mountains will crumble, and the fences will fall, and every wall will fall to the ground.
21 And I will call the sword against him on all my mountains, says the Lord God; Each man’s sword will be against his brother.
22 And I will litigate against him with pestilence and blood; and I will rain upon him, upon his troops, and upon the many peoples that are with him, mighty rain, and hailstones, and fire, and brimstone.
23 And I will be exalted and sanctified, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations; and they will know that I am Jehovah.

Ezekiel Chapter 39

1 You therefore, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, sovereign prince of Meshech and Tubal.
2 And I will break you, and I will lead you and bring you up from the northern parts, and I will bring you upon the mountains of Israel;
3 and I will take out your bow from your left hand, and I will shoot down your arrows from your right hand.
4 You and all your troops and the people who went with you will fall on the mountains of Israel; I have given you as food to birds of prey of every kind, and to the wild beasts of the field.
5 You will fall on the face of the field; for I have spoken, says the Lord God.
6 And I will send fire on Magog, and on those who dwell safely on the coasts; and they will know that I am Jehovah.
7 And I will make my holy name known among my people Israel, and I will no longer allow my holy name to be profaned; and the nations will know that I am Jehovah, the Holy One in Israel.
8 Behold, it comes, and it will be fulfilled, says the Lord God; This is the day of which I have spoken.
9 And the inhabitants of the cities of Israel will go out and light and burn weapons, shields, flags, bows and arrows, hand darts and spears; and they will burn them in the fire for seven years.
10 They will not bring wood from the field, nor cut from the forests, but they will burn their weapons in the fire; and they will plunder their plunderers, and rob those who robbed them, says the Lord GOD.
11 At that time I will give Gog a place of burial there in Israel, the valley of those who pass to the east of the sea; and he will block the way for passers-by, for there they will bury Gog and all the multitude of him; and they will call it the Valley of Hamon-gog.
12 And the house of Israel will bury them for seven months, to cleanse the land.
13 All the people of the land will bury them; and the day that I am glorified will be celebrated to them, says the Lord God.
14 And they will take hired men to go through the country with those who travel, to bury those who are left on the face of the earth, to cleanse it; After seven months they will do the recognition.
15 And those who go through the country will pass, and whoever sees the bones of a man will put a sign next to them, until the gravediggers bury them in the valley of Hamon-gog.
16 And also the name of the city will be Hamona; and they will cleanse the land.
17 And you, son of man, thus says the Lord GOD: Say to the birds of every kind, and to every wild beast of the field, Gather together, and come; Gather from all sides to my sacrifice that I sacrifice for you, a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel; and you will eat flesh and drink blood.
18You will eat the flesh of the strong, and drink the blood of princes of the earth; of rams, of lambs, of goats, of oxen, and of bulls, all fattened in Bashan.

15 photo

19 You will eat fat until you are satisfied, and you will drink until you are drunk with the blood of the victims that I sacrificed for you.
20 And you will be satisfied at my table, with horses and strong riders and all men of war, says the Lord GOD.
21 And I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations will see my judgment that I have done, and my hand that I have laid on them.
22 And from that day forward the house of Israel will know that I am the Lord their God.
23 And the nations will know that the house of Israel was taken captive for their sin, because they rebelled against me, and I hid my face from them, and delivered them into the hand of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.
24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I did to them, and I hid my face from them.
25 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Now I will return the captivity of Jacob, and will have mercy on all the house of Israel, and will be zealous for my holy name.
26 And they will feel their shame, and all their rebellion with which they transgressed against me, when they dwell in their land in safety, and there is no one to frighten them;
27 when he brings them out from among the people, and gathers them out of the land of their enemies, and is sanctified in them in the sight of many nations.
28 And they will know that I am the Lord his God, when after he has taken them into captivity among the nations, he gathers them into his land, leaving none of them there.
29 Nor will I hide my face from them any more; for I will pour out my Spirit on the house of Israel, says the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel Chapter 40

The vision of the temple

1 In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month, fourteen years after the city was conquered, on that same day the hand of the Lord came upon me and took me there.
2 In visions of God he took me to the land of Israel, and he set me on a very high mountain, on which there was a building like a great city, toward the south.
3 He brought me there, and behold a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of bronze; and he had a linen cord in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he was at the door.
4 And that man spake unto me, saying, Son of man, he see with thy eyes, and hear with thy ears, and set thy heart unto all things that I show thee; because so that I could show them to you you have been brought here. Tell everything you see to the house of Israel.
5 And behold, a wall outside the house; and the measuring reed that that man had in his hand was six cubits wide; and he measured the thickness of the wall from one reed, and the height from another reed.
6 Then he came to the gate that faces east, and went up its steps, and measured one post of the gate, one reed wide, and the other post, one reed wide.
7 And each chamber was one reed long, and one reed wide; and between the chambers there were five cubits wide; and every gatepost by the entrance of the gate on the inside, a reed.
8 He also measured the entrance of the door on the inside, a reed.
9 Then he measured the entrance of the gate to be eight cubits, and its posts to be two cubits; and the door of the portal was on the inside.
10 And the east gate had three chambers on each side, all three of one measure; also the portals on each side of one measure.
11 He measured the width of the entrance of the gate to be ten cubits, and the length of the portal to be thirteen cubits.
12 The space before the chambers was one cubit on one side, and another cubit on the other side; and each chamber had six cubits on one side, and six cubits on the other.
13 He measured the door from the roof of one chamber to the roof of the other, twenty-five cubits wide, door to door.
14 And he measured the posts, each post of the court and of the gate all around, to be sixty cubits long.
15 And from the front of the entrance door to the front of the entrance of the inner door, fifty cubits.
16 And there were narrow windows in the chambers, and in their portals inside the door all around, and also in the corridors; and the windows were all around inside; and on each post there were palm trees.
17Then he brought me into the outer court, and behold, there were chambers, and it was paved all around; There were thirty chambers around that atrium.
18 The paving on the sides of the doors, in proportion to the length of the portals, was the lowest paving.
19 And he measured the width from the front of the lower gate to the front of the inner court on the outside, one hundred cubits toward the east and north.
20 And of the gate that was toward the north in the outer court, he measured its length and its width.
21 His chambers were three on one side, and three on the other; and its posts and its arches were like the measurement of the first gate: fifty cubits in length, and twenty-five in width.
22 And its windows and its arches and its palm trees were according to the measure of the gate that was toward the east; and one ascended to it by seven steps, and in front of them were its arches.
23 The gate of the inner court was opposite the gate to the north, and so to the east; and he measured from door to door, one hundred cubits.
24 Then he led me toward the south, and behold, a gate toward the south; and he measured its portals and its arches according to these measurements.
25 And it had its windows and its arches around it, like the other windows; The length was fifty cubits, and the width was twenty-five cubits.

26 Its steps had seven steps, with their arches before them; and it had palm trees, one on one side, and one on the other side, on its posts.
27 There was also a gate toward the south of the inner court; and he measured from gate to gate toward the south one hundred cubits.
28 Then he brought me into the inner court to the south gate, and measured the south gate according to these measurements.
29 Its chambers and its posts and its arches were according to these measurements, and it had its windows and its arches all around; The length was fifty cubits, and the width was twenty-five cubits.

30 The arches around were twenty-five cubits long, and five cubits wide.
31 And his arches fell outside into the court, with palm trees on their posts; and its steps had eight steps.
32 And he brought me into the inner court toward the east, and measured the gate according to these measurements.
33 Its chambers and its posts and its arches were according to these measurements, and it had its windows and its arches all around; The length was fifty cubits, and the width was twenty-five cubits.
34 And their arches fell outside into the court, with palm trees on their posts on either side; and its steps had eight steps.
35 Then he brought me to the north gate, and measured according to these measures;
36 its chambers, its posts, its arches and its windows all around; The length was fifty cubits, and the width was twenty-five cubits.
37 Its posts fell outside into the court, with palm trees on each of its posts on one side and on the other; and its steps had eight steps.
38 And there was a chamber there, and its door with portal posts; There they will wash away the burnt offering.
39 And at the entrance of the door there were two tables on one side, and two more on the other, to slaughter on them the burnt offering and the atonement and the sin offering.
40 On one side, outside the steps, at the entrance to the north gate, were two tables; and on the other side, which was at the entrance to the door, two tables.
41 Four tables on one side, and four tables on the other side, by the door; eight tables, on which the victims’ throats will be cut.
42 The four tables for the burnt offering were of hewn stone, a cubit and a half in length, a cubit and a half in width, and a cubit in height; On these they will place the utensils with which they will slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice.
43 And inside, hooks, a span smaller, arranged around; and on the tables the flesh of the victims.
44 And outside the inner gate, in the inner court that was by the north gate, were the chambers of the singers, which faced south; one was next to the east gate that faced north.
45 And he said to me: This chamber that faces south belongs to the priests who guard the temple.
46 And the chamber that faces north belongs to the priests who guard the altar; These are the sons of Zadok, who are called from the sons of Levi to minister to the Lord.
47 And he measured the court, one hundred cubits in length, and one hundred cubits in width; It was square; and the altar was before the house.
48And he brought me to the porch of the temple, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on one side, and five cubits on the other; and the width of the gate three cubits on one side, and three cubits on the other.
49 The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the width eleven cubits, to which they ascended by steps; and there were pillars by the posts, one on one side, and one on the other.

Ezekiel Chapter 41

1 Then he brought me into the temple, and measured the posts, the width being six cubits on one side, and six cubits on the other, which was the width of the tabernacle.
2 The width of the gate was ten cubits, and the sides of the gate were five cubits on one side and five on the other. And he measured its length to be forty cubits, and the width to be twenty cubits.
3 And he went in, and measured each doorpost to be two cubits; and the door, six cubits; and the width of the entrance was seven cubits.
4 He also measured its length, twenty cubits, and its width, twenty cubits, before the temple; and he said to me: This is the most holy place.
5 Then he measured the wall of the house to be six cubits; and the width of the chambers was four cubits, all around the house.
6 The side chambers were superimposed on each other, thirty on each of the three floors; and modillions were inserted into the wall of the house around it, on which the chambers would rest, so that they would not rest on the wall of the house.
7 And there was greater width in the chambers above; The spiral staircase of the house went up very high around the inside of the house; Therefore, the house was wider at the top. From the lower floor you could go up to the middle one, and from this to the upper one.
8 And I looked at the height of the house around; The foundations of the chambers were a whole reed six cubits long.
9 The width of the outer wall of the chambers was five cubits, equal to the space that remained of the chambers of the house inside.
10 And between the chambers there was a width of twenty cubits on all sides around the house.
11 The door of each chamber led into the remaining space, one door to the north, and another door to the south; and the width of the space that remained was five cubits all around.
12 And the building that was before the open space on the west side was seventy cubits; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, and ninety cubits long.
13 Then he measured the house, one hundred cubits long; and the open space and the building and its walls, a hundred cubits long.
14 And the width of the front of the house and of the open space on the east was one hundred cubits.
15 And he measured the length of the building that was in front of the open space that was behind it, and the chambers on either side, one hundred cubits; and the temple within, and the portals of the court.
16 The thresholds and the narrow windows and the chambers around the three floors were all covered with wood from the floor to the windows; and the windows also covered.

17 Above the door, and to the inside of the house, and outside of it, and all around the wall inside and outside, he took measurements.
18 And it was carved with cherubs and palm trees, between cherub and cherub a palm tree; and each cherub had two faces;
19 a man’s face toward the palm tree on one side, and a lion’s face toward the palm tree on the other side, all around the house.
20 From the floor to above the door there were carved cherubs and palm trees all along the wall of the temple.
21 Each post of the temple was square, and the front of the sanctuary was like the other front.
22 The height of the wooden altar was three cubits, and its length was two cubits; and its corners, its surface and its walls were made of wood. And he said to me, This is the table that is before the Lord.
23 The temple and the sanctuary had two doors.
24 And in each door there were two leaves, two leaves that turned; two leaves on one door, and another two on the other.
25 On the doors of the temple there were carvings of cherubim and palm trees, just as those on the walls; and on the façade of the atrium to the outside there was a wooden portal.
26 And there were narrow windows, and palm trees on either side on the sides of the porch; so were the chambers of the house and the thresholds.

Ezekiel Chapter 42

1 Then he brought me to the outer court toward the north, and brought me to the chamber that was in front of the open space in front of the building toward the north.
2 In front of the north gate its length was one hundred cubits, and the width fifty cubits.
3 In front of the twenty cubits that were in the inner court, and in front of the paving that was in the outer court, were the chambers, one facing the other on three floors.
4 And before the chambers was a passage ten cubits wide inward, with a path of one cubit; and its doors faced north.
5 And the upper chambers were narrower; because the galleries took more away from them than from the lower ones and those in the middle of the building.
6 Because they were on three levels, and had no columns like the columns of the courts; Therefore, they were narrower than those below and those in the middle, from the ground.
7 And the wall that was outside in front of the chambers, toward the outer court in front of the chambers, was fifty cubits long.
8 For the length of the chambers of the outer court was fifty cubits; and before the face of the temple there were one hundred cubits.
9 And under the chambers was the entrance to the east side, to enter into it from the outer court.
10 Along the wall of the court, toward the east, in front of the open space, and in front of the building, were chambers.
11 And the corridor that was before them was like that of the chambers that were toward the north; both its length and its width were the same, and all its exits, according to its doors and according to its entrances.
12 So also were the doors of the chambers that were toward the south; There was a door at the beginning of the corridor in front of the wall on the eastern side, for those who entered the chambers.
13 And he said to me, The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the open space, are holy chambers in which the priests who come to the Lord will eat the holy offerings; There they will put the holy offerings, the offering and the atonement and the sacrifice for sin, because the place is holy.
14 When the priests enter, they will not go out of the holy place into the outer court, but there they will leave their garments in which they minister, because they are holy; and they will put on other clothes, and thus they will approach what belongs to the people.

15 And when he had finished measuring the interior of the house, he took me out by the way of the gate that looked toward the east, and measured it all around.
16 He measured the east side with the measuring reed, five hundred rods of the measuring reed all around.
17 He measured on the north side, five hundred rods of the measuring reed all around.
18 He measured on the south side five hundred rods of the measuring reed.
19 He went around to the west side, and measured five hundred reeds from the measuring reed.
20 On all four sides he measured it; He had a wall all around, five hundred rods long and five hundred rods wide, to separate the sanctuary from the profane place.

Ezekiel Chapter 43

The glory of Jehovah fills the temple

1 Then he brought me to the gate, to the gate that faces east;
2 and behold the glory of the God of Israel, coming from the east; and the sound of it was like the sound of many waters, and the earth shone because of its glory.
3 And the appearance of what I saw was like a vision, like that vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city; and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.
4 And the glory of the LORD entered the house by the way of the gate that led to the east.
5 And he lifted up the Spirit for me and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house.

Temple laws

6 And I heard one speaking to me from the house; and a man stood by me,
7 and said unto me, Son of man, this is the place of my throne, the place where I will lay the soles of my feet, where I will dwell among the children of Israel forever; and never again shall the house of Israel profane my holy name, neither they nor their kings, with their fornications, nor with the dead bodies of their kings in their high places.
8 Because they have placed their threshold next to my threshold, and their buttress next to my buttress, with only a wall between me and them, they have defiled my holy name with their abominations that they have done; therefore I consumed them in my fury.
9 Now they will cast away their fornications and the dead bodies of their kings far from me, and I will dwell among them forever.
10 You, son of man, show the house of Israel this house, and let them be ashamed of their sins; and measure the design of it.
11 And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make them understand the design of the house, its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, and all its forms, and all its descriptions, and all its configurations, and all its laws; and describe it before their eyes, so that they may keep all its form and all its rules, and put them into practice.
12 This is the law of the house: On the top of the mountain, the entire enclosure, all around, will be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house.
13 These are the measurements of the altar by cubits (the cubit from cubit to cubit and the smallest span). The base, one cubit, and the width one cubit; and its finish along its edge around it, about a span. This will be the plinth of the altar.
14 And from the base, above the ground, to the place below, two cubits, and the width of one cubit; and from the lesser cornice to the greater cornice, four cubits, and the width of one cubit.
15 The altar was four cubits, and on top of the altar were four horns.
16 And the altar was twelve cubits long and twelve cubits wide, square on its four sides.

17 The landing was fourteen cubits long and fourteen cubits wide on its four sides, and the edge around it was half a cubit; and the base of a cubit on all sides; and its steps were on the east.
18 And he said to me, Son of man, thus says the Lord God: These are the ordinances of the altar on the day it is made, to offer a burnt offering on it and to sprinkle blood on it.
19 To the Levitical priests who are of the lineage of Zadok, who come to me, says the Lord God, to minister before me, you shall give a bullock of the herd for a sin offering.
20 And you shall take some of its blood, and put it on the four horns of the altar, and on the four corners of the rest, and on the border all around; This way you will clean and purify it.
21 Then you shall take the calf of sin offering, and burn it according to the law of the house, outside the sanctuary.
22 On the second day you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering; and they will purify the altar as they purified it with the calf.
23 When you have made atonement, you shall offer a bull from the herd without blemish, and a ram from the herd without blemish;
24 and you shall offer them before the LORD, and the priests shall sprinkle salt on them, and offer them as a burnt offering to the LORD.
25 For seven days they will sacrifice a goat every day as a sin offering; They will also sacrifice the bull from the herd and one ram without blemish from the flock.
26 For seven days they will make atonement for the altar, and they will cleanse it, and so they will consecrate it.
27 And at the end of these days, from the eighth day onwards, the priests will sacrifice on the altar your burnt offerings and your peace offerings; and you will be accepted with me, says the Lord God.

Ezekiel Chapter 44

1 He turned me toward the outer gate of the sanctuary, which faces east; and it was closed.
2 And the LORD said to me, This door will be closed; It shall not be opened, nor shall any man enter through it, because the Lord God of Israel has entered through it; will, therefore, be closed.
3 As for the prince, because he is the prince, he will sit there to eat bread before the Lord; He will enter through the vestibule of the gate, and through the same way he will go out.
4 And he led me to the north gate in front of the house; and I looked, and, behold, the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord; and I fell on my face.
5 And the LORD said to me, Son of man, pay attention, and see with your eyes, and hear with your ears, all that I speak to you concerning all the ordinances of the house of the LORD, and all his laws; and pay attention to the entrances of the house, and to all the exits of the sanctuary.
6 And you shall say to the rebellious, to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Enough of all your abominations, O house of Israel;
7 to bring foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to dwell in my sanctuary and to defile my house; to offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and to nullify my covenant with all your abominations.
8 For you have not kept what is established concerning my holy things, but have appointed foreigners as keepers of the ordinances in my sanctuary.
9 Thus says the Lord GOD: No son of a foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter my sanctuary, of all the sons of foreigners who are among the children of Israel.
10 And the Levites who departed from me when Israel departed from me, going after their idols, will bear their iniquity.
11 And they will serve in my sanctuary as doorkeepers at the doors of the house and servants in the house; They will kill the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and will be before them to serve them.
12 Because they served them before their idols, and they became a stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Israel; Therefore I have lifted up my hand and sworn, says the Lord God, that they will bear their iniquity.
13 They will not approach me to serve me as priests, nor will they approach any of my holy things, my most holy things, but they will bear their shame and the abominations that they did.
14 Therefore I will appoint them as guards in charge of the custody of the house, for all its service, and for everything that must be done in it.
fifteenBut the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept the ordinance of the sanctuary when the children of Israel departed from me, they will come near to minister before me, and will stand before me to offer me the fat and the blood, says the Lord GOD.
16 They will enter my sanctuary, and they will come to my table to serve me, and they will keep my ordinances.
17 And when they enter through the gates of the inner court, they shall put on linen garments; They shall not wear anything of wool on them when they minister at the gates of the inner court and inside the house.
18 They will have linen turbans on their heads, and linen underwear on their loins; They will not gird themselves with anything that makes them sweat.

19 When they go out to the outer court, to the outer court, to the people, they will take off the garments in which they ministered, and leave them in the chambers of the sanctuary, and they will put on other garments, so as not to sanctify the people with their garments.
20 And they shall not shave their heads, nor let their hair grow long, but they shall only trim it.
21 None of the priests will drink wine when he enters the inner court.
22 He will not take a widow or a divorced woman to wife, but he will take a virgin from the lineage of the house of Israel, or a widow who is a priest’s widow.
23 And they will teach my people to differentiate between what is holy and what is profane, and they will teach them to discern between what is clean and what is unclean.
24 In cases of litigation they will be there to judge; They will judge according to my judgments; and they will keep my laws and my decrees in all my solemn festivals, and they will sanctify my sabbaths.
25 They will not approach a dead man to defile themselves; But for a father or mother, son or daughter, brother, or sister who has not had a husband, they may defile themselves.
26 And after his purification, they will count him seven days.
27 And on the day that he enters into the sanctuary, into the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he will offer his atonement, says the Lord GOD.
28 And there will be an inheritance for them; I will be his inheritance, but you will not give them possession in Israel; I am his possession.
29 They will eat the offering and the atonement and the sin offering, and everything consecrated in Israel will be theirs.
30 And the first fruits of all the first fruits of everything, and every offering of everything that is presented of all your offerings, will be the priests’; You will also give the priest the first fruits of all your dough, so that the blessing may rest in your houses.
31 The priests shall not eat anything dead or torn, whether of birds or animals.

Ezekiel Chapter 45

1 When you divide the land by lot as an inheritance, you will set aside a portion for Jehovah, which you will consecrate to him in the land, twenty-five thousand reeds long and ten thousand wide; This will be sanctified in all the territory around him.
2 Of this there will be for the sanctuary five hundred rods in length and five hundred in width, squared around; and fifty cubits all around for their common lands.
3 And of this measure you will measure twenty-five thousand reeds in length, and ten thousand in width, in which will be the sanctuary and the most holy place.
4 The consecrated part of this land will be for the priests, ministers of the sanctuary, who come to minister to Jehovah; and it will serve as a place for their houses, and as a sacred precinct for the sanctuary.
5 Likewise twenty-five thousand rods in length and ten thousand in width, which will be for the Levites, ministers of the house, as a possession for themselves, with twenty chambers.
6 For the property of the city you shall appoint five thousand in width and twenty-five thousand in length, in front of that which was set aside for the sanctuary; It will be for the entire house of Israel.
7 And the prince’s portion will be next to that which was set aside for the sanctuary, on either side, and by the possession of the city, before that which was set apart for the sanctuary, and before the possession of the city. , from the western end to the eastern end, and the length will be from the western limit to the eastern limit.
8 This land will be their possession in Israel, and my princes will no longer oppress my people; and they will give the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes.
9 Thus says the Lord GOD: It is enough, O princes of Israel! Stop violence and plunder. Do judgment and justice; Take away your impositions from my people, says the Lord God.
10 Just scales, just ephah, and just baton you will have.
11 The ephah and the bath will be of the same measure: the bath has the tenth part of the homer, and the ephah has the tenth part of the homer; Their measurement will be according to the homer.

12 And the shekel will be twenty geras. Twenty shekels, twenty-five shekels, fifteen shekels, will be a mina for you.
13 This will be the offering that you offer: the sixth part of an ephah for each homer of wheat, and the sixth part of an ephah for each homer of barley.
14 The ordinance for oil will be that you will offer a bath of oil, which is a tenth of a choir; ten bats will make a homer; because ten batos are a homer.
15 And one ewe lamb from the flock of two hundred, of the fat ones of Israel, for a sacrifice, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make atonement for them, says the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel Chapter 46

1 Thus says the Lord GOD: The gate of the inner court that faces east will be closed on the six days of work, and on the Sabbath it will be opened; It will also open on the day of the new moon.
2 And the prince shall enter by the way of the portal of the outer gate, and shall stand at the threshold of the gate while the priests offer their burnt offering and their peace offerings, and he shall worship at the entrance of the gate; then he will come out; but the door will not be closed until the afternoon.
3 Likewise he shall worship the people of the land before the Lord, at the entrance of the gate, on the Sabbath days and on the new moons.
4 The burnt offering that the prince will offer to the Lord on the Sabbath day will be six lambs without blemish, and one ram without blemish;
5 and for an offering an ephah with each ram; and with each lamb an offering according to his ability, and a hin of oil with the ephah.
6 But on the day of the new moon, one bullock without blemish from the herd, six lambs, and one ram; They must be without defect.
7 And he shall make an offering of one ephah with the bullock, and one ephah with each ram; but with the lambs, according to his possibilities; and a hin of oil for each ephah.
8 And when the prince comes in, he will enter by the way of the gate of the gate, and by the same way he will go out.
9 But when the people of the land enter before the Lord at the festivals, he who enters at the north gate will go out through the south gate, and he who enters through the south gate will go out through the north gate; He will not return through the door through which he entered, but he will go out through the one opposite it.
10 And the prince, when they come in, he will come in among them; and when they come out, he will come out.
11 And in the festivals and in the solemn assemblies the offering shall be one ephah with each bullock, and one ephah with each ram; and with the lambs, according to his ability; and a hin of oil with each ephah.
12 But when the prince freely makes a burnt offering or peace offerings to the Lord, they will open to him the gate that faces east, and he will make his burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he does on the Sabbath; then he will go out, and they will close the door after he goes out.
13 And you shall offer a sacrifice to the Lord every day as a burnt offering a lamb of one year old without blemish; every morning you will sacrifice it.
14 And with it you shall make every morning an offering of the sixth part of an ephah, and the third part of a hin of oil to mix with the fine flour; offering to the Lord continually, by a perpetual statute.
15 Therefore they shall offer the lamb and the offering and the oil every morning as a continuous burnt offering.
16Thus says the Lord GOD: If the prince gives part of his inheritance to his children, it will be theirs; possession of them will be by inheritance.

17 But if he gives part of his inheritance to any of his servants, it will be his until the year of jubilee, and it will return to the prince; but his inheritance will be his children’s.
18 And the prince shall not take any of the people’s inheritance, lest he defraud them of their possession; From what he possesses he will give inheritance to his children, so that none of my people will be driven out of his possession.
19 Then he brought me through the entrance that was towards the door, to the holy chambers of the priests, which faced north, and I saw that there was a place there at the bottom on the west side.
20 And he said to me, This is the place where the priests will bake the sin offering and the atonement offering; There they will cook the offering, so as not to take it out to the outer court, thus sanctifying the people.
21 And immediately he brought me out into the outer court, and carried me through the four corners of the court; and in each corner there was a patio.
22 In the four corners of the court there were fenced courts, forty cubits long and thirty wide; All four had the same measurement.
23 And there was a wall around them, around the four of them, and fire pits below around the walls.
24 And he said to me, These are the kitchens, where the servants of the house will cook the offering of the people.

Ezekiel Chapter 47

The salutary waters

1 Then he made me return to the entrance of the house; and behold, waters came out from under the threshold of the house toward the east; for the front of the house was to the east, and the waters came down from beneath, to the right side of the house, to the south of the altar.
2 And he led me out by the way of the north gate, and he turned me around by the outer way, outside the gate, to the way of the one that faces east; and I saw that the waters came out from the right side.
3 And the man went out toward the east, carrying a cord in his hand; and he measured a thousand cubits, and he made me pass through water up to my ankles.
4 He measured another thousand, and he made me pass through water up to my knees. Then he measured another thousand, and made me pass through the water up to my loins.
5 He measured another thousand, and it was now a river that I could not cross, because the waters had risen so that the river could not be crossed except by swimming.
6 And he said to me, Have you seen, son of man? Then he took me, and he led me back along the river bank.
7 And as I returned, I saw that on the bank of the river there were many trees on both sides.
8 And he said to me, These waters go out into the eastern region, and will go down to the Arabah, and will enter the sea; and entering the sea, the waters will receive healing.
9 And every living soul that swims wherever these two rivers enter will live; and there will be many fish because these waters have entered there, and they will receive healing; and everything that enters this river will live.
10 And the fishermen will be next to him, and from En-gedi to En-eglaim will be his net-spreader; and by their species the fish will be as numerous as the fish of the Great Sea.
11 Its swamps and lakes will not be healed; They will be left for salt mines.
12 And by the river, on the bank, on either side, all kinds of fruit trees will grow; Its leaves will never fall, nor will its fruit fail. In its time it will mature, because its waters come out of the sanctuary; and its fruit will be for food, and its leaf for medicine.

Limits and distribution of land

13 Thus says the Lord GOD: These are the boundaries within which you will divide the land as an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel. José will have two parts.
14 And you will inherit it, one as another; For her I raised my hand swearing that I would give it to your parents; therefore this will be the land of your inheritance.

15 And this will be the border of the land toward the north side; from the Great Sea, on the way to Hetlon coming to Zedad,
16 Hamath, Berota, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazar-haticón, which is the limit of Haurán.
17 And the northern border will be from the sea to Hazar-enan on the border of Damascus on the north, and to the border of Hamath on the north side.
